James Harden, known as “The Beard,” is one of the NBA’s top players since his trade to the Houston Rockets. James Harden was born in 1989, in Los Angeles, California. James Harden is known quite a bit for his large beard and for his outstanding skill in basketball. He was the No. 3 pick in the 2009 NBA draft, chosen by the Oklahoma City Thunder, before he was suddenly traded to the Houston Rockets in 2012. Harden has now become a lasting MVP candidate, because of his extraordinary games such as the 60-point triple-double in January 2018 which set the records in the NBA’s Hall of Fame.He was one of the most skillful players in his Arizona State basketball team but his teammates were not even close his level. Harden immediately helped to spin a program that had gone to an 8-22 record in the 2006 and 2007 season. The Sun Devils (his team) improved to 21 wins in James Harden’s first year and pushed forward to 25 wins and a spot in the NCAA Tournament by his 3rd year. It was known as the Pac-10 Conference Player of the Year, he finished his college career in his 3rd year, and he was ranked third in the all-time ASU’s record book scoring an average of 19.0 points per game, and later he had his college retire his Number 13. He was picked by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft and starting out, Harden became a very strong player on the court and was able to earn the All-Rookie Second Team honors. By 2011, he became an important part of the team that included two of the greatest players of the time, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook. In the October of 2012, before the NBA season began, the Thunder sent a shocking message to the league with the big announcement that they were trading James Harden to the Rockets. Ever since Harden joined the Rockets for the 2013 and 2014 season, Harden had become one of the greatest players in the NBA. He earned the first of six All-Star awards in that one season and was voted second place for the Most Valuable Player award in 2017. James Harden was not able to power the Rockets through the other teams the Rockets past the pack of contenders in his first few years with the team. The Houston Rockets did reach the Western Conference Finals in 2015 but were pushed off before they were able to get anywhere. But still, there are very high possibilities of the Rockets making it to the finals this year though.
